Dark milk is basically halfway between a dark chocolate bar and a milk chocolate bar. And since our Ashanti Ghana makes such a rich "chocolatey" chocolate, we felt this would be the perfect cacao to make these dark milk bars!
Chicory coffee is a staple at the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. David's mother is from the area and introduced David to the Cafe's world-famous beignets (French doughnuts) at an early age. In 2003, David met Norwood Clark of Uncle Darrows Cajun Restaurant in Los Angeles. Norwood's restaurant has been donating food to the elderly in his community via his nonprofit ReUniteAmerica project, and this bar is a culmination of this partnership.
